Sorwot Farmers’ Cooperative Society Overview

Established on July 3rd, 1989, Sorwot Farmers’ Cooperative Society is a registered cooperative in Kenya, operating under the cooperative society framework with the registration number CS/5649. Over the years, our cooperative has experienced significant growth, and we are proud to currently boast a membership of 1200 dedicated individuals.

Our headquarters are strategically located in Mentera sub-location, Siwot Location, Kipkelion West Sub County, Kericho County, Kenya. At present, our cooperative achieves an impressive cherry intake of 700,000 kilograms, reflecting our commitment to the production of high-quality coffee.

Certified by the National Environmental and Management Authority (NEMA) with the reference number NEMA/KRC/5/2/150, Sorwot Farmers’ Cooperative Society adheres to environmental standards in all aspects of its operations.

  • Zonal Presence: Our cooperative is structured into five zones: Siwot, Mentera, Kapseger, Cheptuiyet, and Siret, each contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Sorwot’s coffee production.
  • Marketing Partnership: Sorwot markets its coffee through the esteemed New Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (New-KPCU), ensuring a broader reach and recognition in the coffee industry.
  • Pulping Stations: With three pulping stations strategically located in Sosiot, Kipchorian, and our Main Office at Mentera, we employ state-of-the-art wet coffee processing techniques, including Disc pulpers, a pregrader, and a reparser.
  • Financial Stability: Sorwot Farmers’ Cooperative Society takes pride in its financial soundness, with well-funded operations geared towards achieving excellence in the production of top-tier, quality coffee.
  • Board of Management: Governed by a nine-member Board of Management, supported by three Supervisory Board members, our cooperative is led by a team of dedicated professionals committed to steering Sorwot towards continuous success.
  • Diverse Workforce: With roles ranging from security officers to a factory manager, a secretary manager, and a clerk, Sorwot FCS boasts a diverse workforce working collaboratively to drive our cooperative's success.
  • Recognition for Quality: We are honored to have received a Certificate of Best Cup Quality from Jabali Company Limited in Seocho-gu, Seoul, Korea, recognizing our commitment to delivering exceptional coffee
